Note: More pictures will be added soon
(well, as soon as technology decides to co-operate with me and will allow me to add them, that is.)
February 12, 1964 The Beatles traveled
back to New York City via train from Washington DC. Since it was a national holiday (Lincoln's Birthday), schools were closed
and hence, 10,000 fans were there to greet them at Penn Station. On this day, they also played at Carnegie Hall, where
so many people had requested tickets that seats on the stage were added. A deal to play at Madison Square Gardens was out
to Brian Epstein by Sid Bernstein, but Brian declined, saying they'd "leave this for next time." Back in the U.K., Granada
Televions airs "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah! - The Beatles In New York", filmed by the Maysles Brothers.
February 13, 1964 They take National
Airlines Flight 11 from New York to Miami; departure was at 1:30 p.m., arrival at 4:00 p.m.. There were 7,000 fans waiting
at the airport, who then rioted. The Beatles were driven to the Deauville Hotel, cheered on and waved at by crowds lining
the streets. Somehow, Murray the K, the New York DJ, managed to not only accompany them, but to share a room with George
(who, according to Miles' book "The Beatles: A Diary", never figured out how he managed that... he wasn't thrilled.) At
night, they went to the Mau Mau Lounge (where they danced the "Mashed Potato") and the Miami Peppermint Lounge. In the
U.K., Granada had gotten so many requests that it repeated "Yeah, Yeah, Yea! - The Beatles In New York".
February 14, 1964 A short rehearsal
for the Ed Sullivan Show is followed by a "Life" magazine photo session, and a bit of time to try to relax. They spent
the evening in the hotel.

February 15, 1964 More rehearsals
(in beach gear) in Hotel Deauville's Napoleon Room. There was a dress rehearsal for the Ed Sullivan Show at 2:00 p.m. in front
of an audience of 2,500 (many of whom had been in line for this event since the early morning.) They spent the remainder
of the day fishing.

February 16, 1964 The Ed Sullivan
Show, live from the Deauville Hotel, airs. According to Miles, there were some riots, though, since CBS handed out 3,500 tickets,
while the hall itself only held 2,600; the fans who weren't allowed in, even though they had perfectly valid tickets, where
the ones who rioted. The songs played were: She Loves You This Boy All My Loving I Saw Her Standing There From
Me To You I Want To Hold Your Hand This time, 70,000,000 viewers tuned in.
February 17, 1964 The Beatles attempted
to water-ski; pictures of this were taken by Dezo Hoffmann and can be found in his book.
February 18, 1964 They spend this
day going to see Cassius Clay (later known as Muhammad Ali) at his training camp and give photographers a field day. Later,
they also try to handle speed boats (remember Ringo's Anthology story?) and go to a drive-in movie (they saw Elvis Presley's
"Fun In Acapulco".)

February 21,1964 Departure from
Miami, via New York, back to London.
February 22, 1964 Arrival
in London to a huge crowd welcoming them home.
